An NCP spokesperson said the party already elected Ajit Pawar as the CLP leader and he would be the party's first choice for the deputy chief minister's post.

The Maharashtra Chief Minister will be from BJP, ally Ajit Pawar said today, adding that the two Deputy Chief Ministers will be from the alliance partners.

Pawar said, 'The state will have one chief minister from BJP and two deputies from other two parties of Mahayuti. Tentatively, the oath taking ceremony will take place on December 5. We have decided to move ahead with a strong vision.

Pawar added that the Deputy Chief Minister positions would be given to Eknath Shinde's Shiv Sena and his faction of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP).

Ajit Pawar said that the other Mahayuti allies, Eknath Shinde's Shiv Sena and the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) faction led by himself, will get the Deputy Chief Minister posts.

In the contest between the two rival NCP factions in the Maharashtra assembly elections, the Ajit Pawar-led party defeated the outfit headed by his uncle Sharad Pawar on 29 seats.
