BAKU, Nov 23 (Reuters) - Country delegates at COP29 met for a plenary Saturday night to agree on some aspects of this year's negotiations, while their teams continued to work on the summit's centerpiece topic: agreeing a new target for annual climate finance.

Countries agreed on a deal to inject at least $300 billion annually in humanity's fight against climate change, aimed at helping poor nations cope with the ravages of global warming at tense United Nations climate talks in the city where industry first tapped oil.

Nations agreed to a new deal Saturday that has developed countries "taking the lead" in providing up to $300 billion per year by 2035 to help vulnerable ones withstand climate change impacts and decarbonize.
