The AQI in Delhi dropped to ‘very poor’ category by Monday evening due to low winds and continued to be at the same level on Tuesday morning.

Delhi's air quality remained stagnant in the "very poor" category on Tuesday, with experts warning that it may deteriorate to "severe" levels in the next 24 hours due to a change in wind patterns. None of the 39 monitoring stations in the capital recorded the air quality in the "severe" category on Tuesday.

Delhi was covered in a thick layer of haze on Tuesday morning, as the air quality was reported to be ‘very poor’, taking a plunge from Monday's 'poor' category report. On Monday, Delhi recorded an Air Quality Index (AQI) of 279 at 5:30 AM.
