Sen. Mike Rounds (R-South Dakota) introduced the “Returning Education to Our States Act” to the Senate on Thursday afternoon, according to a press release from his office. The bill would eliminate the U.S. Department of Education (ED) and redistribute its work to other federal departments.

The Department “plays a crucial role in protecting our most vulnerable children, ensuring they receive the quality education they deserve,” Paul said.
