Mumbai: Shiv Sena leader and caretaker Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Wednesday granted full authority to the BJP’s central leadership to choose the next CM. At a press conference in Thane, Shinde made it clear that he would accept whatever decision the BJP leadership, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, takes.

Maharashtra: Sources said if Devendra Fadnavis becomes the CM, then Eknath Shinde can become the Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra. In that case, he can also have the Ministry of Urban Development or PWD.

Given the decisive results, with the BJP bagging an overwhelming 132 seats, followed by Shiv Sena (57) and NCP (41), it is learnt that the BJP leadership in Delhi is not happy with the “pressure tactics” adopted by Shinde supporters to make him Chief Minister again.

Amid suspense over who will become the next chief minister of Maharashtra, the BJP sources on Wednesday said that Devendra Fadnavis is almost certain to be the next Chief Minister of Maharashtra as the Cenntral leadership has given green signal.

Eknath Shinde called PM Modi the head of the family. He said the BJP leadership mustn't consider him an obstacle in government formation.
