India’s opposition is protesting the government’s silence over allegations against billionaire Gautam Adani, who was recently indicted in the U.S. for alleged fraud and a scheme to pay bribes.

Even these projects, all part of India’s Adani Group, barely convey the scale of a conglomerate so intertwined with government priorities that it is almost synonymous with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s India.
