Tennessee state Sen. Ken Yager was arrested, booked into a Georgia jail Tuesday night and accused of getting into a hit and run while driving under the influence while on vacation on Jekyll Island. Yager, a Republican from Kingston, is chairman of the Senate Republican Caucus.

Yager was arrested in their county on Tuesday for charges of DUI, hit and run, and failure to stop at a stop sign. Georgia State Patrol conducted the arrest of the 77-year-old who was released Wednesday.
